Microwave oven – friend or foe?

Over the years, I have often been asked about my opinion on microwave ovens as a way to heat food. Remarkably, as part of my research I discovered that Soviet Russia banned microwave ovens for heating food in 1976, however they were reinstated in 1987 as a result of international pressure on free trade (Phillips and Phillips, n.d). There are two concerns I have: the impact on the food and the radiation emitted from the oven. Find out more….
